We are a general injection molding manufacturer. We produce to commercial molding tolerances and we do not offer high-precision or tight-tolerance molding. If a drawing calls for tolerances beyond that, we will tell you at the quotation stage rather than after tooling.
What is worth knowing regardless of supplier:
- Tolerance in molding is resin-dependent. A semi-crystalline resin such as PP shrinks far more than an amorphous one such as ABS, and shrinkage variability sets the floor on what any tool can hold.
- Not every dimension needs the same tolerance. Marking every dimension tight raises cost across the whole part and slows inspection. Identify the few dimensions that genuinely control fit or function and tolerance those properly.
- Dimensions across the parting line are inherently less repeatable than dimensions within one half of the tool. Where a critical dimension can be designed to sit entirely in the core or entirely in the cavity, it will hold better.
- Cavity-to-cavity variation is real. On a multi-cavity tool, ask for the first article report per cavity rather than as an average.
Being explicit about which dimensions matter is the single most effective thing a buyer can do to control both cost and dispute risk. Send a drawing and we will tell you plainly whether it is within what we do.
